Among the outstanding nominees for the upcoming 84th Academy Awards are both the actors and the film of the charming, sleeper hit The Artist. The silent film scored ten nominations, including Best Actor, for Jean Dujardin and Best Supporting Actress for Berenice Bejo, Best Picture as well as Best Director, for the film of the same name.

The award winning film, which took honors for Best Actor, Comedy or Musical at the Golden Globes with a win for Jean Dujardin, evokes the spirit and the style of the silent era. Set in the ‘20s and shot in black and white, the actors turned in star turning roles, including its star dog.
