It’s quite a tease to be taking in the collections that we’ll be wearing next winter especially when fantastic outerwear is involved – something we’ve been seeing on the runway quite a bit this week. A case in point: the parka (above left) designed by Sharon Wauchob for Edun. For those of you not familiar with the brand, it’s the brainchild of Bono and his wife Ali Hewson. Their mission: to encourage trade with Africa and so far, a hefty portion of the collection is produced on the continent.
This season marked a notable growth spurt for the brand as Wauchob eschewed overtly bohemian looks for a more directional lineup with a distinctly urban vibe. We loved the loose dresses and leather pants worn with metallic knits or abstract prints, but the jackets and coats deserve a second mention here.
Add a pair of chic little studs to accent the cool factor of these looks. We like the gold and diamond pair from Caroling Ballou’s Giverny collection as well as Sarah Graham’s beautiful black cobalt chrome and diamond earrings.
