An Eclectic Mélange of Modern Lines and Decorative Fabrics for Resort/Cruise
Proenza Schouler Resort 2012
Resort is a season of smart style and for clothes that serve to usher in the mood and trends for the coming spring. It’s a short season in which designers explore new ideas, turning out capsule collections that offer entirely new visions of fashion, fleshing out the germ of an earlier idea or reworking themes from the prior season with a new attitude and framework.
Interchangeable & Sterling Silver Ring by Elena Kriegner
Modern Voyager does all three, offering up chic modernist clothes that function as perfectly on the high seas of an ocean liner as on a city street. These are clothes that offer a new approach to fashion at a time when we are yearning for adventure, escape and, above all, a new look. Whether it’s a new take on a color blocked dress at 3.1 Philip Lim or a clean lined boldly colored patchwork shirt and short from Proenza Schouler, resort brings fresh new shapes, new colorations and fabric mixes that work in both cooler and warmer climates.
It’s the time to show off beautiful new accessories, the perfectly crafted colored shoe, a new colored handbag and a chance to show off boldly beautiful jewels, always the perfect accessory.

Key Silhouettes:
Inspired by Modernist abstract form, shapes move away from the body: the boxy or a-line jacket, the cocoon shaped jacket or coat. Shifts and sheaths continue. Pencil skirts and a-lines add definition and shape. Shirts return, topping shorts and narrow or full pants. Mixed fabrics define new shapes.

Color:
Off beat bold color dominates: yellow, orange, chartreuse, jade, plum, and chartreuse, along with primary red and white. Neons return, as an accent color or worn on their own, while graphic black and white continue in force.
