Torre del Greco, Italy
Founder and Managers : Giuseppe Rajola and his children Vincenzo and Mariella
Inspiration : Sciacca coral, Italian culture and history
What you should know : The heart of Rajola's southern Italian heritage is Sciacca coral. Discovered near the seaside village of that name in western Sicily, the designers look to the renowned material for its superior consistency and distinct orange-pink color. Sciacca coral was buried by volcanic eruptions centuries ago, and discovered and recovered between 1875 and 1900. That's when Rajola started using the material in its jewelry, and has been ever since.
Their historic surroundings paired with the family's jewelry-rich heritage still inspire the designs as local materials are combined in such a way that evokes Italian style.
The jewelry combines Sciacca with faceted gemstones that create intriguing combinations.
